 Peer Review Process

All items accepted by the Editorial Board will be submitted to a system of anonymous referees, entrusted to two external reviewers. If necessary, a third reviewer will be auscultated. In light of advice received the Editorial Board may determine that the authors adopt the suggestions contained in them and, ultimately, may decline to accept the text.

This journal offers immediate free access to its contents. We strongly believe that free and public access to scientific knowledge is fundamental for democratizing that knowledge.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

The Journal Perspetivas da Contemporaneidade preferably accepts articles in the social and human sciences, including empirical works, theoretical reviews, and critical reviews, it being of annual frequency and continuous receiving stream. Papers that favor multidisciplinary approaches and with an authorial team from different institutions are particularly encouraged.

Submission guidelines:

1. The articles must be original and previously unpublished. The papers may be in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English language. They are required to be in Microsoft Word, using Times New Roman font, 12 points, 1.5 spacing between lines (except long quotations and footnotes, which must use 10 point font and single spacing between lines). The papers shall consist of a maximum of 25 pages (including spaces, footers and bibliographical references). The bibliographical references and quotations must comply with Portuguese Standard 405-1 (1994) and relevant updates. Examples:

2. The identification of the author must contain: (1) name; (2) institutional affiliation; (3) ORCID ID; (4) e-mail.

3. The articles must include an abstract of no more than 100 words and five Keywords separated by semicolons, in Portuguese and English or in original language and Portuguese. The same applies to the title.

4. The critical reviews consist of a maximum of 3 or 4 pages. They are required to be in Microsoft Word, using Times New Roman font, 12 points, 1.5 spacing between lines.

5. The articles submitted will be subject to an evaluation process by the Scientific and Editorial Team and the final decision on the publication of the texts will be provided by the coordinator of each issue of the Journal.

6. Papers not in conformity with these standards will be returned.

7. Authors will be provided with only one review.

8. The responsibility of opinions, as well as the content, expressed in the articles are the authors only.
